People
are starting to talk, and the buzz is about you. They're saying you're
the next up-and-coming great thing, using words like "let's get our
people together" and "I'd like to hook you up with so and
so." Then comes the totally unexpected question, "do you have
a card or something so I can call you?"
Embarrassed, you quickly opt not to hand over the pre-scored, supply
store brand business card you put together on your inkjet, that's been
sitting in your wallet for the past six months. Instead you say something
like, "ah, I just handed out my last card earlier today." As
you use your favorite click pen to write out your phone number and
e-mail address, you move "business cards" to the top of your
mental list.
